After seeing this video we've thought about DIY ollas… or buying them… but we like making things.

The obvious way is to use some cheap terracotta pots, just bury them in the ground, and I was thinking pour a little cement into the bottom to plug the hole and just pop a saucer on top… or use the glue-two-together method the guy on the GrowVeg video does?

Then I have gone down the path of pondering making them from clay… probably some sort of slab-work, maybe cylindrical or conical, or maybe boxy shapes. This involves making a basic kiln, probably propane gas fired…

• This looks like a good clay
• Need some of this sort of insulation

I wonder if a combined low-fire kiln + pizza-oven could be fit onto the plot somewhere…
